How to use suspenders in place of Holsters
Have you ever thought of how messy and unorganized you’d look if you always have to carry your personal/work items without a bag?
There are very few police gears that are as important and indispensable as the holster. A cop cannot afford to dump his gear in a knapsack or handbag, and I bet he’d have himself beaten up before he gets to any of his weapons or doesn’t reach them at all. The holster is to secure the weapons during the day and provide protection. It also prevents unauthorized access to the gears as well.
Suspenders
Police suspenders are used to carry equipment easily in several pouches attached to the belt in a very accessible manner, leaving the hands free. It can carry any number of valuable items. It allows a cop to move a portion of the weight on his belt onto the shoulders, reducing the weight and pressure of his gear on the lower back, stomach, and waist area. The suspenders allow for the belt to be worn loosely. This makes carrying police gears more comfortable.
Belt suspenders are mostly made from durable nylon with shoulder pads that the wearer can adjust to fit better. They can clip anywhere on the belt to serve as support making it stable during tactical maneuvers.
It is essential to note the following features of a suitable belt suspender:
- Leather Keepers and rings are usually attached to the duty belt
Leather support straps are then fastened to these rings. - The leather support straps are crossed at the back of the Cop and then over his shoulders.
- They are firmly secured to the front rings by the two snaps attached to each of the straps. This makes the suspenders easily detachable from the keepers in the front.
- The wearer must secure the two straps at the back with a strong screw.
